Cricket Australia Posts Record Revenue and A$81.8 Million Surplus After Ashes and India Series
Strong media rights deals and record crowds helped Cricket Australia swing from a loss the previous year to a net surplus in the 2025-26 financial year.

Cricket Australia has reported record revenue of A$601.1 million (US$423 million) and a net surplus of A$81.8 million (US$57 million) for the 2025-26 financial year, driven by media rights agreements tied to the Ashes and a limited-overs series against India.
The governing body announced the figures on Wednesday, saying the result reflected strong commercial performance, record audiences and a successful international season. The outcome marks a sharp turnaround from the 2024-25 financial year, when Cricket Australia recorded a net loss of A$11.3 million (US$7.95 million).
According to the organization, the men's home Test series against England and the white-ball series against India produced record levels of media, commercial and match-day revenue.
Cricket Australia also cautioned that the good run will not continue immediately. It forecast losses for both the 2026-27 and 2027-28 financial years, blaming a "cyclical decline in media rights and match revenues in line with the international touring schedule."
On the field, Australia's national teams enjoyed a strong year. The men's side retained the Ashes with a 4-1 home victory, while the women's team claimed a seventh ICC T20 World Cup title by beating England in the final at Lord's.
The series against India took place last October and November. Australia won the one-day international series 2-1, while India took the T20 series by the same margin.
Attendance figures also set new marks. Cricket Australia said the Ashes drew 859,580 spectators over 18 days, an average of 47,754 per day.
The men's team is currently in South Africa for a Test series. It will then host England in a white-ball series starting Nov. 13, followed by four Tests against New Zealand at home from Dec. 9 to Jan. 8. The squad then travels to India for a five-Test series that begins Jan. 21 in Nagpur.
