Ayesha Curry Leads Roku Holiday Rom-Com 'Second Chance Holiday,' Set for Nov. 5 Premiere

Ayesha Curry will headline the holiday romantic comedy "Second Chance Holiday," which arrives on Roku on Nov. 5, the streaming platform announced Tuesday. The project is her first leading role in a feature film.

Roku revealed the premiere date alongside a trailer posted on social media. The company first said in July that Curry would star in the movie, but the trailer and release date were not shared until this week.

Curry is the wife of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry. Matthew Daddario, the brother of movie star Alexandra Daddario, appears opposite her.

According to Roku, the story centers on a dating expert who is trying to end a "curse" of getting dumped again and again around the holidays. She runs into her high school crush, played by Daddario, and starts to wonder whether her bad luck is the universe's way of steering her back to her first love.

In a statement released in July, Curry said it was an honor to be part of the film "alongside such a talented cast and crew." She described a special appeal to the genre. "There's something truly magical about holiday rom-coms," she said. "They invite you into these charming, cozy worlds where anything feels possible." Curry said she fell in love with her character, Chelsey, while bringing her to life, and hoped viewers would do the same.

Stephen Curry responded to the trailer on X on Oct. 27, calling his wife "My Leading Lady." He wrote that he gets to see the work behind the scenes and that now "the world gets to see you shine," adding that it is "just the beginning."

The couple have been married for 15 years and have four children. Stephen is a four-time NBA champion.

Although this is her first lead in a feature, Ayesha Curry is no stranger to the screen. Her most recent role came in the animated movie "GOAT," which her husband produced and also appeared in. She has also been credited with appearances in Disney's "Hannah Montana" and "Good Luck Charlie," as well as HBO's "Ballers."

With its November debut, "Second Chance Holiday" will stream on Roku as part of the holiday season lineup.
