The NFL and Apple Music announced Monday that Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show.
The performance is scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. This marks the artist's first time leading the halftime segment.
Roc Nation, Jay-Z's production company, has handled the show's production since 2019. The company recently signed a five-year extension that keeps them in the role through 2029.
Under Roc Nation's direction, past performances have focused on hip-hop and rap artists. Last year's show in Santa Clara featured Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, and Ricky Martin.
The venue, SoFi Stadium, hosted the 2022 halftime show with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. Other recent headliners include Kendrick Lamar and SZA in 2025, Usher in 2024, and Rihanna in 2023.
Jay-Z has been on tour this year to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. His tour began in July at Yankee Stadium and included shows in London and Paris. He finished the tour on October 23 and 24 at SoFi Stadium, giving him a recent preview of the Super Bowl venue.
