Apple is adding an AI assistant to its productivity apps Keynote, Pages and Numbers. The feature runs on AI models from Apple and OpenAI and is designed to read the context of a document before carrying out a task.

In Keynote, the assistant can design, animate and refine slides. In Pages, Apple says it can draft written material, restructure it and make adjustments. In Numbers, it can calculate, visualize and organize data, suggest chart types and build custom tables.

The assistant is rolling out in beta to devices that support Apple Intelligence. It works on devices running iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27 or later.

Apple is also opening the three apps to outside AI tools. Keynote, Pages and Numbers now support the Model Context Protocol on macOS 27 or later, which lets third-party AI agents plug into them.

The company is rolling out changes across its creative software as well. Pixelmator Pro gains a Generate Fill feature that lets users edit part of an image by describing the change they want. Apple says the tool "automatically matches the lighting, perspective, and texture of the surrounding environment so edits blend in."

Logic Pro for Mac and iPad is getting a Liquid Glass redesign and its own AI assistant. Apple says the assistant can "set up a vocal track from a single prompt" and can also edit existing projects. On the Mac, a redesigned Browser uses on-device AI to analyze, classify and tag sounds that users add.

Final Cut Pro is receiving an update that brings templates, graphics, titles and transitions into the app through MotionVFX. Apple is also building the Content Hub into Final Cut Pro, with a library of stock videos, photos and backgrounds.

The updates to Apple's Creator's Studio will be free for existing subscribers and are due to arrive in November.
